I don;t like the 4th of JULY!!!!!!!!!!! -

Had a bad day today as we had to take Dan to the hospital to get the teeth looked at and he went totally out of control. He was very hard to handle and was kicking and biting and elbowing us and all sorts. Hard for DH to hold him down now as he is such a big lad. They eventually agreed to do the op on his teeth on 15th August so were looking foward to that. All worth it in the end I guess.

Oesdog - Still don;t like 4th July -

Oesdog - sorry you don't like the fourth, but I have to agree about the noise and all that. '

Chics - I just finished raspberry and strawberry jams. We went and picked today DW and me. Oh and while I was inside doing that DW closed up the chickens for me.

Now we also picked red currants and I'd like to do gooseberries. Anyone got a recipe for those. I've never done Jelly's before.

Good morning chicken wranglers
Oesdog ,you get to have guy falks day and we don't. Hey and did you know that King george the 2nd was a german how about that, the whole line of kings descended from the prince of wales is of german blood.
Is it true? Weren't he and frederic of prussia uncle and nephew and didn't they have a coup[le of battles?
How does all that German Blood affect the house of Windsor?King George the 3rd was king when the colonies revolted and Wasn't he the first king to speak english without a german accent in 2 generations?
Karl is a very german name you know! maybe we have some common ancestors, the King and I!

Yes - there is a lot of German blood in the Royal family that is true - however Karl I doubt very much you had anything to do with it!!!!!

They even changed their name to be more British!! Most of Europe’s monarchy can be traced to Queen Victoria! She was very good at marrying off her kids!

aw schucks there goes my royal asparations.A true Brit can carry guy falks night in her heart.
Yes I believe that at the turn of the century,Nicky the czar and Willhelm the Kizar were cousins of some sort.
Also I think that royalty tried to establish bonds of family through marriage, but when brothers will murder each other for power what good were cousins ,uncles, or aunts besides expendable pawns.

Morning folks,

Oh sure oesdog make fun of the old people.

Well I gotta tell ya. Last evening we were sitting outside having dinner in the yard. We watched two rabbits down near the coop. One of them a brave soul went into the chicken yard and played a game of tag with the girls. It was funny to see them chasing this nutty bunny around the yard. It could have gotten out easy enough but I guess it liked the game.

While I have a garden I don't mind the occasional rabbit. I was told it was a sign there are no foxes in the immediate vacinity. I do believe they got under the coop before I had a chance to put hardware cloth all the way around and now I can't finsih it cuz in the spring I see bunnies in the yard. One year I had to pick up two little ones and move them to the weeds so the chickens didn't find them. Fortunately for them and me the part that is open is in the fenced in area of they yard.

Now mice and anything else gets killed pronto. Just not Peter Rabbit.

Take care folks and have a good day.

Rancher

Hello folks!

Oesdog, sounds like you had your hands full with your son. Hope things are calmer for you now.
Rancher, I just have my pet rabbit, who is in the aviary now and just loving the new-found freedom. Yesterday I let the 8 chicks out (the 7 week olds), and he was having a great time playing "scatter the chicks" by hopping into the middle of wherever they were scratching around in a group. It was pretty funny, and I swear he looked like he was laughing before hopping away again. I've always liked rabbits, and I don't think I could kill the wild ones, either.

Time to get busy on the new coop. We had two drills and neither will hold a charge anymore. Why do they make the batteries for them so expensive? I ended up buying a new 14 volt one, which I'm eager to try out this morning. vroom vroom...... Hope I can handle it.

Have a great day, chicken wranglers.
