Q it is a good looking fish and I hope he is doing well since I returned him to the pond without gutting or filleting him.
I'm going to roast a hog tonight for a benefit for my good friend that passed last july.It is actually a poker run and we are serving at the end of it for all the hungry riders.
My old buddy is coming to help with the hog tonight.We will fish and stay up late and drink beer,but not too much,dont need it to rob me of my strength,:"rancher",and fish till dawn when we will pull pork til noon afterwich we will serve it to the masses.

Morning everyone,

Slept late. Tired from school I guess. Much to do yet and it's cold. To cold for me. If I lived alone I've have the heat on. Lord send us money to put in a gas fireplace. Amen.

Q - I just realized your in NY. I've never heard of Tivoli, but I like the name.

Looks like Karl is busy. Poor hog gonna be dinner. Never like a pig roast though the church has had a few. Went to one once and didn't like the meat. Guy sitting across from me, (we were sitting on the lawn) who didn't like it either. As we sat there this little boy, who we didn't know, came and sat in his lap. Right on Winston's plate of food. Giving Winston an excuse to toss it out. Lucky Winston.

Darcy has learned to take off her nappy. DD found her in the crip with poop all over.

She didn't get an pics which is lucky for Darcy.

I've been so busy at school I haven't had the chance to check in with you fine chicken folks all week. But finally it is Saturday and I'm enjoying some Hatian coffee my father brought back form me from his last trip there a few weeks ago. It's quite nice.

Nice fish, Karl! I bet it gave you a run for your money. Quercus, it sounds like a nice hike in some cool weather I would give anything to have right now. By this time in the year everyone gets cranky till it finally starts to cool off to under 90 degrees. I don't do instant coffee even camping - I've got a tiny percolator, or BF has a little filter that fits over a mug to brew the coffee. There's nothing better than camp coffee.
Rancher - it's sad, but I swear I hear about old cats getting hit by cars so often, I wonder sometimes if it is there way of ending things for themselves. Strange, but true. And Happy Aniversary.

Well, got a few chores to do before taking the kids to see a Big Cat sanctuary south of here. I love finding cheap tickets to stuff like that on Groupon. I'm going to put in the rest of the garden today, too, as the seedlings have come up enough. I've got broccoli, tomatoes, carrots, and leeks. I've also got some weird stuff, but the tray fell early on and they got mixed up, so I don't know what is coming up - could be chinesse lanterns, eucalyptus, weird red Hawaian flowers. I'll just wait and see, I guess!

Raccons, and possum, and snakes, OH MY! And naughty chickens, too
I don't know what other predators live by you...I had a possum find his way into my fenced yard, in the SNOW, I got the shovel and chased him against the fence...took one look into that pathetic snaggletooth face... grabbed his tail, and flung him over the fence. UGH.

and we have 3 cats
and all our feed bins are steel and covered. I did get 2 eggs yesterday..
but thats from18 hens.. and its been that way for a month..
now what do I do? I did find 2 holes in the big coop,
and 2 in the smaller coop, do Grounds hogs cause danger to chickens?
we saw one peering out
of 1 hole I filled with rocks and cement..I have my work cut out for me before the cold sets in
as Dh isnt able to venture out, he hasnt been walking for the last 2 yrs.
now having brain MRI next week his 2nd one 7 months.
and nerve conduction test... so he can only walk
with a walker short steps in the house.and I have to be with him,
I have set golf balls out and they are still there.

Sissy are they molting and perhaps just not laying, or are the shells left and the eggs eaten?I would think if they are real predators like coons and the like they would kill the chickens.Never saw a coon take an egg when he could take the chicken,Ihate coons!
Hog roast went well,rancher either you just don't like pork or you have never had good roast hog,Everyone raves about my roast hog but I dont know if I could make a believer out of a doubting rancher.
Well gotta go,I was sick all weekend,hit me after I was done pullin pork,
Cold started in my head and is now dropping into my lungs ,need rest and miles to go befor I sleep!

Quite brisk this morning! fall is on its way! oh and christmas stuff is already being shelved at the stores! OMG i about died.. of course i LOVE christmas, next month its time for christmas carols!


im going to texas on the 7th of october, to go finish moving my sister and her kids up here to idaho. talk about a weather shock! they have never seen snow! LOL this could get interesting.. seeing as we get snowed in several times a year!
