Coffee's ready...

Good morning, all.

Good morning chicken wranglers,
How is the winter prep going? Is it still too early? I have not as of yet started to cut fire wood. Oh my word will I ever get it done on time?
How about y'all are you dreading the onset of the fall's end?

I not sure but it has been acting like fall around here since June! I am afraid it will leap right into winter with no interim transition. So much for wishful thinking!
God Bless!

Felix: Great pictures. Looks like the Adirondacks. What kind of soil do you have? For the most part, just about all sand except for rocks and lakes/ponds in the Adirondacks mountains. Are you in part of the boreal forest range?

Karl: Starting our firewood this weekend. I have the wood here, just needs to be cut, split and stacked. I am going to fill up the shed first, then the deck this year. It will be closer to the house.

Yeah, most of Finland is in the boreal forest range. The topsoil is mainly humus, sand and peat.

We live in the temperate forest region. There are many different types of soil around here. It seems literally, on this side of the road is all clay, while the other side is sandy loam. Further inland, about 8 - 10 miles, you could find all sorts of different soils. From sand to loam to nice rich black dirt. The only consistency was the rocks. No matter where you stuck the shovel, you would hit a rock. We collect the rocks here as a novelty.

Dry some chilli peppers.......................................

Our yard is landscaped, so there's better soil here, but the next lot hasn't been done, so there's a lot of clay there if you go down a foot.

I'm hoping to get some chili peppers too, although I'm not quite sure what I have yet. The fruits have started to grow now, but I have three possibilities for it - a Jamaican Bell, a sweet paprika or some sort of mild chili.
