Chicken pot pie in the oven for tonight, a pot of chili cook all day for tomorrows supper ( with corn bread ). Our youngest daughter turned us on to pepper jam. I think I am addicted to it. Anyways we are going to sneak off tomorrow for a good long walk in the woods...... That doesn't sound right, but we are. The chili and corn bread with pepper jam will draw us back......![]()
@rancher hicks , I wont have pics for about a week.
Enjoy your evening

We always threaten the ladies in taken a "good long walk in the woods" meaning a one way trip. After just about being "grounded" by them for being late in getting out etc. One time, we came out of the woods, well past dark, got home around 10, boy were we in trouble. It sounded like the better half was getting in trouble on the phone from her mom for being late. What's wrong with a good long walk in the woods? It's so wet here I can't take a walk. Plus there are no paths. I don't think to make one since it will lead right to the yard. I don't want to help predators get near the coops.
Morning People,
We called the walk off today, to high of winds. I don't want to imagine ( been there and done that ) what it is like on the summit. Over the summer, we did one "bald" mountain, wind was bowing so hard, we couldn't venture far from the tree line. Honestly, we never made it to the summit. So off to the Albany Museum, proper name NYS Museum.

LOL...were in Spring here![]()
LOL...well im planting loads!!!LOL...We did have to go to the hospital here and that is a hill and very windy and cold. We're planning DW's retirement and had to talk to human resources.
I am planning my garden and perhaps new chicks. I like to hatch, but not sure whether I'll be here to tend to chicks. I'm expecting a new catalog from Baker Creek. I loaded up my beds with compost, chicken coop cleanings, grass and leaf cutting and fill one compost pile. There was more I could have done if I'd not gotten sick. There is always something to do here.
I'm drying Runner Beans and White Pumpkin seeds I saved. I'm looking to preserving more food next year.
May just get the garden started and then head south for my GD's arrival. She'll be #7. They 7 is a lucky number, but we shall see.
Now, now don't brag. You might get hit with a storm and that would not be good. I would not gloat nor be happy.
I wish you a good harvest in the fall where ever you are. What are you planting?
I've gotten books and booklets from the library. One is one weeds and very interesting. I have access to all the libraries in the area and surrounding villages. Last pick up was over 40 books/booklets.
I'm hoping my rhubarb survives and I get some asparagus, currants and raspberries this year.
I do need to order more bushes. I don't expect my gooseberries to give me much. Oh and my Jostaberries might give me something too.
My motto is plant lots and lots of stuff and if half gives you a yield you won't starve. I have lots of mottoes.![]()
Loads? What are Loads? You should try vegetables and fruits.LOL...well im planting loads!!!LOL...
