Their is an oral vaccine that they scatter around to immunize raccoons - have to check into the availability of that.

We were eating kale and collard greens right from the garden, up till mid December. This last cold snap did everything in. I dried the kale, beans (first time this year) and have/did dried the carrots. I usually freeze the beans, but thought to try something different. I would say, I dried 1/3 of this years carrots harvest because of storage limitations. As far as the actual name of the veggies at this time I couldn't tell you.
The better half loves blueberries. Alot of times you'll find her out there grazin on them. They are easy to freeze. Blueberry sauce for pancakes, crisp, mixed with other canned/frozen fruits etc. Yep, froze the corn to.
I guess trial and error and how much we enjoy something.
I am always changing/adjusting the gardens. This spring, 2 more raised beds and potato towers. The old main in ground garden is just going to be a bed of vine veggis, cucumbers, butternut, acorn etc. The tomato bed, I am doing with out those yellow pear shaped tomatoes and planting more plum for sauce. I can never have to much sauce. We also had ( to me ) a couple of comfort meals, tomato soup ( yep with heavy cream ) and grilled cheeses...........
Enjoy the day

Good morning chicken wranglers,
We have 3 barn cats that are offspring of the one kitten we found abandoned and nursed until grown.
Now she "the momma is in the shop (one step closer to gone and we have a kitten or hers in the house. He tore up the carpet and crapped in the basement so he is on his way out also. I myself have no great love for cats other than the purposeful one of them as mousers. The mother cleaned the barn out of mice but eventually found her way back to the house. She is a sweet cat but took to peeing in the floor registers on a regular basis so she had to go. If she would have stayed in the barn she could have lived her days in harmonious bliss killing mice and making me happy. I would just as soon shoot a feral as try to tame it. I caught one in a live trap I set for what I thought was a coon killing my hens, as it turned out when she was gone the killing of hens also stopped. Cats have their place but they can be a nuisance .
God Bless!
