The cure for getting old is getting buried I think. I'll get old thankyou. But I do thank you for your input Kis.Gaurdian Goose is still on the job. I should order some goslings just to reward her for her heroic effott to save thre ducklings from all dangers,She hissed and came after me this morning. Well all good mothers were rewarded last sunday and she may have been laft out I wonder if jewelry is in order?

I missed the coffee hour the last few days .

to relocate to.
My sister is looking at Sweetwater.
But they are not sure as yet. Sevier county is too busy for them
now thats its grown so.
she and DH are tired of the freeze in Indiana.

Happy Saturday!

Last night I left the door of the run open and my month old chicks came out to investigate. It's the first time they could explore head deep in grass and lots and lots of juicy bugs. It was very entertaining and relaxing way to begin the weekend. There are so many of them - 64! Only half ventured out - I was watching closely, trying to discern gender and which ones I will keep. I tried to take pictures, but they just won't stand still! I have a lot of blurry streaks across the frames.

Have a great day! The coffee this morning is particularly satisfying.

she has a white roo bachelor friend
now I am going to set up another coop for the white silkie
hen and white roo.this morning.
also have a few silkie eggs in the bator.
so hopefully i will get some babies.

We had a good weekend. Roasted a hog that was about 200# and barely fit in the roaster,spent the day pulling pork and served about 75 guests for dads 72nd bday.
chickens are good cows go to be bred in acouple of days, gave the horses ivermectin and need to worm cows but it will all happen. God bless and have a great week!

It was a wonderful weekend, but oh, way too short! A curious thing happened yesterday. My son and I were dividing up my chicks yesterday when out of the blue, something landed on the roof of the run we were working in. At first, we thought it might have been a bird of prey interested in a tasty meal. But no, it was a racing pigeon who had lost his way. I found out (through the good people who answered by query on BYC) how to get in touch of the National Pigeon Association. He is banded and I discovered that his owner is in California. I am in New Hampshire! No wonder he got lost! I find it hard to believe that he traveled that far. I can't call his owner till noon because of the time difference. I am so curious about this little bird's adventures.

We had another rainy weekend.but we did get a lot done
leveling the land and under ground pipes are done.
now I only hope the water goes away from the house .

Finally a sunny day.I hope to till and plant this evening. Lettuce is coming up potatoes look good ,in spite of the heavy frost bite 2 weeks ago, but the corn is flowndering "a little shot of nitrogen may be in order!My girls will be free ranging tonight . Sissy kismet and all God bless.
