Hi - I always miss coffee

No Broody Hens here - though I do have a hen with 4 chicks called Bertha who is a very good mummy.
I also have Gerty who isn’t - she isn’t really broody but wants to be, only thing is she does it for half a day then gets bored and goes outside to play.
MAybe I might catch a cuppa tomorrow??????????????????????????????????????

Welcome to oesdog. Sissy glad you got rain, Scoop like the poultry people greeting.Math ace you got your pick me up today,so watch out in the yard, all the chores are a waiting. My Kids are selling produce, last week they made 50.00 dollars. I think things will pick up as the tomatoes and zuchinins and peppers ripen.They are selling corn right now and that is all we have ready. When the egg permit gets here we will offer the free range eggs also.
My little bottle calf is so cute and she still thinks she is a human she follows the children everywhere.
I got out to check on liney and moonshine mt 2 heffers. It is love with liney! I saw the bull try to mount her this morning, but she turn away at the last second just teasing him.When She reaches the full peak of estress then she will give it up. I hope the result is a calf.

of my hens are just loafers this month.
I did toss them a handfull of Purina dry cat food high protien
maybe that will give them a boast.how long do they take a vacation?

or one could have landed on the house 42 inche round trunk.

Sissy do save the wood and burn it? My B.I.L. gave me a couple of cords ,but I had to let him use my dump truck to haul all the scrap away. Fair enough. We do burn wood all winter in the fire place and it does cut the heat bill down by a bit.Ya'll have agreat day God Bless!

Good morning flock tenders Iam enjoying my second cup
of this fine brew,,fresh gound from 8'oclock decafe beans,
with hazlenut cream, a special treat,
Oh Karl , we gave all the wood to the neighbor down the road,.
We dont have a fireplace, the other house had one
but We got tired of the cleaning out
and DH has allergies.
I have quite few Broody hens so I am tucking some
eggs from the other coop under them
they have to earn their keep.

I'm drinking plain old foldgers thinkin about the good old days. Last year when my chickens were chicks ahh those were the days.

Oh Karl, they were the days! When we got our first chicks it was a time of wonder! We just couldn't get enough of them. Chairs were set up next to our metal tub in the mudroom. Ah yes, the wonder of the beautiful chicken. I remember being amazed how fast they grew and laid eggs! I'm experiencing the heartache of losing such a wonderful feathered friend this week. What a contrast it is from wonderment to heartache, all a part of the love of our dear birds.
I'm drinking Eight O'clock Hazlenut today. Yum-oh. Big Lots has it cheap lately and I've been stocking up!

Our newest 8 chickies are growing fast and I should know very soon which ones are roosters. I can hardly wait! Hopefully the majority are hens!

Roosters will have to go!
