The end of 2012 is near and for the first time this year, there is frost on the pumpkin. The sky is blue here in Central California, and the valley below has a frost-white sheen to it. I take my coffee with me when I go out to feed the horses, but I am now back inside with the morning fire, toasting you folks at BYC with another cup. I made some hamburger buns last night; so we will put ground beef on the grill for lunch. There is sourdough rising from last night – I’m trying out a new batch of starter. DW and I will drive down the road to a downed oak tree to gather branches this morning; then we will continue clearing an area we want to use to expand our garden. We are hoping to put in a winter crop this year – something we have never done before. Things are looking good, and I hope that you all have a great day too!
