I have a male cockatiel and I want to get another bird is there any different bird breeds that would do well with him? (I know this is controversial)

Ok! Do you think he would get along with a green cheeked conure? I’m planing on getting a cage much larger than what he has. (By the way I love your profile pic)He would get the most enjoyment out of having another cockatiel for company. Male cockatiels get along just fine in most cases, unless there are girls to compete over.
Larger parrots and Lovebirds are not recommended as cockatiels are far too docile to defend themselves. Budgies can be bossy. Really the only options are the smaller grass parakeets such as Turquoises and Bourkes. You will need to keep them separated while they are quarantined, and you'll need a back-up plan if he won't accept the new bird/s in his cage.

I have never heard of a princess parrot but I’ll keep an eye out for them at my local bird store. My cockatiel is not very friendly and very nippy and hissy so he would probably be able to tell a budgie what’s up but not hurting him (he acts tougher than he is). I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for another cockatiel!I keep my two cockatiels with my budgie and my princess parrots. I know keeping budgies with them doesn't always work, but mine are in a large aviary and they seem to get along. I can't speak for anyone else's birds though.
Princess parrots are a similar size (slightly bigger) and have a generally easy-going temperament, but I'm not sure how common they are in your area.
I would never recommend getting a parrot, but there are definitely some I would advise against more than others. Perhaps another cockatiel? You never really know how things will turn out when introducing two birds.
