OK folks this is getting tiring I know BUT they still have not gone in on there own. Some will go in on their own during the day to eat (we also have food outside) but when it gets dark they still pile up and stay in the run. We have had 3 days of rain and hail with more to come tomorrow and I'm wondering if I should leave them locked up in the coop, they will get under it while it rains then when it slacks off they will run out and scratch around. What am I to do. Will they eventually get it or just be outside girls. HELP
on another post someone said that you should lock them in the coop for several days before you let them out. that way they know it's home. have you tried locking them up for some time first? if so just ignore what i said.
youthpastor, thanks for the reply. Yes they have been locked in for almost a week when we first put them out. They have no trouble coming out and some will go back in during the day to eat from the feeder that's inside the coop, but at nightfall all bets are off and they pile on top of each other and stay in the run till we get home from work at 11:00PM and my husband can put them inside.
