I've posted about my Dionne before with her weird comb here. Today it's been the most purple I've ever seen. She's usually very vocal, and she didn't care when I picked her up. She usually struggles and kicks. If there's anything I can do for her, please let me know!

1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.)
10 month RIR pullet, around 5 lbs.
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
Not vocalising, dark purple/grey comb, feels cold. She's also not resisting much to being picked up.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
Off and on, worst it's ever been today.
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms?
No.
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
No. No obvious signs of airway obstruction, either.
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
Nothing that I know of, but her sister from the same hatchery died of FLHS in January.
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
Water with ACV (replaced every day), Nature's Best organic layer pellets, forage.
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
I'm not sure about hers *specifically*, but yesterday I found green poops (the color of the BYC buttons) with mushy solids and loose, watery/milky urates.
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
Nothing so far.
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
I'd like to treat her myself. Vets are far away, and very hard to find.
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
Will attach.
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use
TSC Cumberland Cottage coop, pine shavings on top of aspen (deep litter method) with timothy hay in the nesting boxes.

How purple her comb is doesn't show up in pics well. It's a dark, dusty, greyish-purple.

TIA!

Hi! Regarding the comb, I️ have a rooster whose comb is purple at the end. It’s typically cold too. So I don’t know if the comb is something to be too worried about. As for the poop, is it possible she has worms? Worms could cause lethargy and unexplained weight loss.

Hey! I dewormed two weeks ago with Safeguard, so I don't think it's worms. I hope we can figure out the combs!

About the comb, it’s probably just a bit of blood circulation loss from the cold. A while ago my rooster’s comb got pretty bad because it was so cold, I’ll attach a picture. He has a pretty tall spiky comb so it gets cold easily in the winter. I put a good amount of bag balm on the tips every night (because he wouldn’t let me do it in the day) and it got better. The bag balm helps trap the heat so the blood can get circulating well again

If there is no risk of freezing temps in your area maybe try a little olive or coconut oil massaged into the comb once a day. I agree with everyone that it just looks dry and not to worry :)

Okay! I usually use Vaseline in small amounts when I get dry combs.
