Ah, I wish I did know my girl's egg cycle. I am pretty sure only Vanna (one of my Sapphire Gems) is still laying. A pullet, she only started laying within the past month, so some days, she lays early, and some days, she lays late. I know because I bundle up and rush outdoors about every hour (yeah, I don't have to brave the cold and go to a job) and I still don't catch all of her eggs in time.
I am enjoying this discussion immensely. I don't refrigerate eggs and have been hoping they are all safe to eat. I do, however, break each one into a little dish before dumping them into a pan -- just to make sure they don't look too watery. I have been concerned about the possibility of those microscopic cracks I've read about, but I feel reassured now that we will all be okay after cooking them.
