I have 11 day old Pekin ducks. We are having an unexpected cold spell and temps are going down into the low 30's, not remotely typical or expected here for mid-May. I've brought the ducklings back in for the past 2 nights but we have a lot of them and they really stink! Ideally their heat should be 75 to 85 but with the hottest bulb I can find I'm finding it hard to keep the heat more than 70, sometimes high 60's, at night. I have closed off part of the coop for heat conservation, added an insulating blanket, and wrapped the outside in a tarp. Any other suggestions? I can't run a second heat lamp, unfortunately. I don't have an outside outlet that will support the wattage. I would love any and all suggestions on how to raise the temp! Thanks
