Cold Weather

I really wish there was a way to let all the newbies know all the things they need to know before bad/sad things happen. I understand that petstock will die from time to time but with the great advice and knowledge the people of this community have to offer it can be kept to natural causes not the mistakes of newbies...thank you doesn't seem like enough BUT thank you for your advice and making my mistakes fewer and farther in between.

This power outage debacle her in Texas has made me realize that chickens 🐔 are not the delicate birds I thought they are. These girls are out the pop door as soon as it opens and it was 17 in the coop 2 nights in a row, they foraged all day despite howling north winds of 25 to 30 mph 90% of the daylight hours and the(to me) most amazing thing is they layed on average 6 eggs a day with an 8 girl flock. They truly are tough little dinosaurs 🦕 and know wonder they have survived millions of years.
