cold

Take a round cookie tin. Cut hole in side (centered from top to bottom) large enough for lamp replacement kit from hardware store. Put 40 watt bulb in, set waterer on and plug in. I have one and helps with water not freezing. Plus wrapped water container with heating pad. Good luck!
These do work well. Get a big cookie tin. I also place the tins on a tile inside a wooden frame(the frame stabilizes my large pan of water). to keep the shavings off of it. Remember to change your water daily as bacteria grows quickly in warmed water. I use the Braggs natural vinegar at 1 tab. to a gallon to help cut down on the bacterial growth that might make them sick. I like the long tube type bulbs in them but they do burn out quicker.
Winter will soon be over for Tenn. and NC. Just one more month of bad weather, well maybe March too. Who knows what that month will be like. I have had one hot one and one very nasty March on my mtn place in Franklin.
