I used to use an economy size laundry detergent bottle with all the top cut out except the handle ; the goats flatened it! I now use a 2 gallon quikcrete bucket. Plastic coffee cans work when there aren't too many!

I keep a plastic bowl by the back door and grab it when I'm collecting eggs. If I forget the bowl, I use my pockets and put one egg in each pocket so they don't bump together and break. I have 6 hens and usually get 2-4 eggs a day total. My eggs usually have a little broody poo on them so I rinse the eggs with water, dry them off and put them in egg carton. Then they go in the fridge. I try to use up the eggs within 4 weeks.

I took use an egg carton
I only get 2 eggs a day, to every other day. But right now, my silkies are being the stereotypical silkie, and sitting on a nest of, NOTHING! There is nothing in the nest yet the think they should go broody. XD

We just went to our local Amish market and got a real egg basket for $7. I have been wanting one of them forever because we have been using a large coffee can. We asked the woman at the counter if they had anything and she went and pulled one that was on display and sold it to us.

P.S. we are getting 17 eggs a day so the coffee can was running out of room

. I always forget to grab something and end up coming back to the house with the front of my shirt full of eggs.
