collecting Ragweed

I've been trying to supplement my quail's food with some wild foods that they would forage on in an effort to help acclimate them if I decide to release them next spring. Ragweed was listed as a food source. It's easy to gather, just strip off the florettes with your hands. I can gather a pint full in a few minutes and the quail sem to love it.

Smartweed is another one that is easy to find and the quail love it. I've been weeding my garden and tossing big handfuls of the whole plants in the flight cage, they strip it down to the stems.
