I just wanted to say i love the pics! Someday....but i have to focus on my current project. I almost wish i'd seen these breeds first. When things are more settled and i can do another coop i'll join thr conservation effort. Till then i just wish. :)

Gotta subscribe to this thread! My curiousity about blue eggs layer has lead me here, from Ameraucana to Araucana back to these interesting breeds... pre-Columbian New World chickens? Insanity, coolness, so wonderful! now, if only I didn't live in the 'burbs I could get a few. But I hope y'all don't mind me hanging out here to learn all I can in the meantime.

Hi welcome you will learn alot from reading peoples post there are quite a few people on who are very knowledgeable about the SA breeds

Hi if anyone is ready for eggs I can start selling them now.I also have some chicks. On the Colloncas I can not do alot of eggs at once as I only have 3 hens laying.

I just came across this forum and found the history of these chickens just fascinating. I would be very interested in hatching. Are hatching there varieties any different from hatching a BO or Ameraucana?

No I hatch the eggs just like the others in the incubater. The Colloncas seem like they do better with higher humidity

I hatch all of them like I hatch any other chicken.
