Cochin is a cockerel. And wing sexing doesn't work for Cochins. It only works for specifically bred hybrids that have been breed for the traits. No pure breeds can be accurately be wing sexed.

Need pics in better light to confirm but he looks like a Self Blue to me. A Splash would be much lighter. May just be the light though.

As said above, wing sexing doesn't work except for specifically bred hybrids.

i am just going to say that for me wing sexing has been 75% accurate, 4 birds i sexed the chicks at 4 days old at the most, i found 2 to be hens 2 to be roosters. the results now are 3 hens 1 rooster, just saying i have found it to be fairly acurate

@bantamsrmyfav it was an extra bird that was supposed to be a blue cochin so i don't know why i got a splash. and it defiantly is a splash not self blue

i added contrast to the picture to darken the dark feathers, there is one on the shoulder and all over the back of this chick

When you order blue you get blue, black and splash chicks so it could’ve been any of the three colors because that is the result of two blue birds breeding

Huh, interesting. Its comb was tiny in previous pics, but very red. Cochins can be slow to mature sometimes and are often last to crow. Pics??
Also I agree, it’s Splash, not self blue. True blue does not breed true. If you breed blue to blue you get blue black and splash. It looks like you got a splash.
