Color and gender for this baby quail

Newer pictures taken from today if that helps! I think it could be a cross between a rosetta and a jumbo. Is that correct?

That chick looks like a very normal Rosetta with some pied (tuxedo) spots. In a mixed flock, you’ll often get birds that favor one parent or the other, and you’ll get some that are in between lookswise. It’s not uncommon for a Rosetta, especially in a mixed flock, to develop some faint wild pattern markings down its back as it matures, often, as newly hatched chicks, you’ll see very light wild markings blended into the back fluff. I have a lovely male named Aragorn who is Rosetta colored with wild pattern cream markings on his back. I think it’s lovely, and with some range patterns in your flock of jumbos, you’ll probably get some interesting mixes too. The rosettas will probably be smaller because most breeders haven’t bred a range pattern to jumbo sizes yet.
