Color changing eggs?

I've scoured the internet and haven't been able to find anything about this. The two newest members of my flock, Easter Eggers, have just started laying some lovely olive-brown eggs.

It was cold today, and as I was holding the egg in my hand, I noticed it had changed colors where my fingers were. I've recreated it several times. It's just like those thermal color changing pencils from elementary school.

Has anyone seen anything like this? Is there an explanation for why it's happening?

The bloom is like a dye that is put on right as the egg is being laid. It can rub off a bit when it gets damp.

This didn't rub off, it changed colors with temperature and then reverted back. I repeated it several times on the same egg.

Mine are brown(light, darker, i have a few that look white every few months) and my brahma lays a speckled egg. And thats only from 5 chickens.

I’m guessing the bloom is responding more to the moisture from your hand, rather than the temperature.
