Color index anyone?

I would love to have someone who knows more than me list the color names and short definitions for chickens. It could be a group effort! I think I know a few, but I would love to see a large list. It doesn't matter how obvious they may seem to some. We have newbies on here that are just learning.

For instance, I think Colombian is white with black trim and hackles (kind of like a Brahma). I think I know Partridge, but I'm not sure - someone else can take that. I've heard of Campine coloring too. Splash, Silverlaced, Duckwing, Brown / Red are some that I commonly hear as well. We can even add the common single colors, too like "Buff." I'm mostly interested in the ones that are combination colors, or the ones that don't obviously indicate one color. Any takers?

Columbian, refers mostly to a pattern with usually a solid color with black ticking in the hackles and black tails, there is Silver Columbian( usually just refered to as Columbian, look up Columbian Wyandottes, Light Brahmas, and Light Sussex) , Buff Columbian( look up Buff Brahmas and Buff Sussex), and Red Columbian ( Rhode Island Reds, Red Sussex )

Partridge is characterixzed mostly by the hens who have narrow black penciling. There is Golden Partridge( usually just called Partridge: look up Partridge Rocks and Partridge Wyandottes) and Silver Partridge ( Usually called Silver Penciled: look up Silver Penciled Rocks and Dark Brahmas)

Campine is a breed but their color pattern is called Transverse Barring.

Splash is a color that is Homozygous ( has two copies) of Andalusian Blue. A Heterozygous Andalusian Blue only has one copy and is Blue. Andalusian Blue is a diluter of black so if the bird dosent carry the gene, then it will be black in the places where the Blue or Splash is.

Silver laced is a Silver Columbian with Black lacing all over the body.

Duckwing is the wild type color like what is found in the original chicken, the Red Jungle Fowl, female duckwing birds have salmon colored breasts. There is Silver Duckwing, Golden Duckwing which is silver with autosomal red ( I just learned that part myself), and Red Duckwing which is most commonly called Black Breasted Red ( BBRed) Red Duckwing is also the base for a few other colors like Crele which is Barred Red Duckwing, and Red Pyle which is Red Duckwing diluted by Dominant White.

And Brown Red is the color of Brown Red Gamefowl and Black Copper Marans. It is primarily black with ( in hens) red streaks and lacing in the hackles and sometimes in the breast feathers as well, and in males they have red hackles, saddles, and red crowwing I belive is what the wing pattern is called for Brown Reds. The Silver inverse of Brown Red were the Gold would be replaced by silver is called the Birchin color. Another Brown Red based color is the TRUE form of Lemon Blue as seen mostly in Gamefowl and Blue Copper Marans ( note there are some project cochins that are from crossing Buffs and Blues that are being called Lemon Blue but that is not the true color. True Lemon Blue is Brown Red diluted by one copy of Andalusian Blue as I explained earlier.

I think this is a great start! I'm impressed! You even mentioned Birchen, which is one that I forgot to ask about, but had wondered. I did look at the Genetic Chicken Colour Book online - they show a preview of several pages of the book. It looks interesting, but there is a lot of genetic information on how to breed for specific coloring. I just want to know what the color combos are called and what they look like. Clint's post is great. Maybe we can all keep adding to it.
