Color question

So peeps the blonde hen has chosen the opaline/lt blue to breed with. what color keets you think I could get don't really get the 2 color thing I get blue gene/ black but the other I understand brown gene or brown/buff color gene? Guess I get confused if he carries one blue and one buff I would assume since ther both dilutes and may also carry black and brown/chocolate?

Blondes should be the dominant color of her hatches since her Blonde color gene (diluted Chocolate) is dominant over his diluted Blue color gene, (and his hidden and diluted buff/tan gene)... but you may see some Buffs in the hatches too. If she is carrying the blue gene as well you may see one or more shades of blue keets too (partially pearled varieties).

And if either bird is carrying the fully pearled gene it will show up too, in either brown or blue shades (or both).

Chocolate showing up.. is a big maybe, but since both birds are diluted colors already I kind of doubt it.

Good match up tho, you should get nice hatches from them. If your hatches turn out really good I may have to separate one of my Blondes and Opalines and see how what they produce for me!

Well you told me what I kinda thought. Now I have a coral blue hen who has chosen the blonde male so what's my color choices blue blonde opaline rp's. Next year I'll have them separated to color bred.

Just remember those hidden genes will always throw you some surprises tho, and can/will make a liar out of you for several hatches in a row if they want to, lol (been there done that!!!).

So I seen the blonde male breed my royal purple hen who's the one losing her dots/bar so color of keets I can get royal purple coral blue opaline ? Chocolates slim possibility am I'm getting this right peeps ?

Probably all you will hatch are Royal Purple keets from that pair, since the Hen's base color is dominant. But it depends on what they are both carrying, hidden. If the RP is carrying the buff gene (no dilution), then yah you may see some Chocolates, but the exact genes needed may not be there. If more than one male breeds that Hen her hatches will vary throughout the season tho.

Looks like a Chocolate but I can't tell for sure, the whole pic has kind of a pink hue to it on my laptop's screen. It may be a Blonde tho if it's lighter than it looks in the pic. Which pair of your birds did this keet hatch from?

Don't forget that the Bronze keets look like RP keets...
