Colorado ChickenFest 2013

The portapotty will arrive on Friday afternoon.

Got the chicken games mostly ready to go. Stopping at Sam's this week for the chicken dogs and buns, the punch, cups, plates, and utensils.

Got a porta-potty. That's the good news. The bad news is that it cost $125. So any donations to help cover that cost would be accepted....
you could hang a coffee can outside the port-o-potty and take donations that way. I will gladly donate some for the cause, if for nothing else than you taking the time and effort to open your place up to something like this! I am bringing 16 chicks also for the prizes. All must go one way or another. They will be two weeks old by this Saturday. Cute little buggers.

We have nametags and sharpie markers. We have 90 turkey hot dogs and buns. lots of charcoal.

Could someone bring some lemonade or koolaid mix?

I also purchased 6 bright orange t-shirts. Look for those if you have a question. The person wearing it will have answers....... or at least directions to someone with answers.......LOL

My daughters and some of their friends will be making TONS of cookies in chicken shapes on friday. I think Snickerdoodles, and maybe some sugar cookies......

We will also have a chicken processing demo/instruction. This may take place during the event or right afterwards.

The rubber chicken launcher works great. We will be finishing up the bean bag game and the pin the head on the chicken game this afternoon. I have several of the woven plastic feed bags for the chicken sack races.

I was planning on bringing food, but I could do lemonade instead. If so, do you want mix or should it be pre-prepared?
How many people are you expecting?

Do we know if anyone is bringing chicks? I'm bringing two 10 week old roos to pass on to someone who can have them and will be in the market for a couple of hens.

:)

I will be bringing Russian Orloff chicks and Golden Sexlinks; 1.5 weeks old. It looks like it will be warm enough with the right precautions. High is listed at 77F so it should be in the 70s all day. :)

Oh, and I am planning to make a chicken enchilada casserole. :D. It's a recipe my sister sent me and I keep meaning to try. My oldest sister is the Master Cook in the family so any recipe of hers should be awesome!

Hooray for chicks!
I need a couple of pullets to replace my beautiful and sweet roosters.

Very cool! Sounds delicious!

Be sure to make up some sort of info card and label for the different breeds. I can just about guarantee that there will be folks there who aren't familiar with all the different breeds. We'll have to make up a registery and post all the different varieties of chickens that attend.....

Anyone a doctor that is attending that can write me a doctor's note that I was sick that day. .... PLEASE.
I've really been wanting to go. However, I work that day and the only way to get out of it is with a doctor's note. ** sigh **

Yes, I'm jealous of everyone who is going. So there.
