Colorado Shooting - How horrible!

My understanding of emergency exits in theaters is that they aren't like the ones in stores or schools, where an alarm is attached to alert others to the emergency. They are simply multiple exits so that a few hundred people do not get bottle necked into one doorway or a hall when trying to leave in the event of an emergency.
Almost all theaters I have been in have had exits placed just past the auditorium that lead to the parking lot. Most people tend to park at the front of the theater, meaning the fastest way back to their car is to leave through the lobby. Some folks who arrive late or just want to avoid the cattle-like herd of people after the movie will park closer to the back and use a side exit, since leaving through the lobby isn't really required.
I can only think of 2 theaters I've been to where you have to leave through the lobby, since it was the only exit. Both are small, 3 screen theaters with other businesses built up around them.

"How to Date an Amish Girl"...I would like to see a
whole post on that one.

I've tried hard...I can't even get the Amish girls around
here to talk to me. And I can talk to anyone. But not them.
They hardly ever speak back.

*Bought our tomato plants from a local Amish grower this
year. The daughter had the sweetest sounding voice. (I
even went back the next day to buy more, just to hear her.)

But this is a serious thread with a point. I'll hijack something
later.

Spook

I am not even sure how I met an Amish girl in Georgia... Much less on the internet... She was pretty though an real nice. All the seeing the world for the first time stuff was a bit much so it didn't work out but well worth it.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program....

The movie theaters where I live have signs on the emergency exit doors that are in each theater that state they have alarms hooked up but, I think that is just to detour people from letting their friends in to the movie for free. Once out in the hall there are many exits to the parking lots around the complex.

Lesson learned do not give smart people guns... Sounds dumb but it's true..

Look at Columbine shooting, Virgina Tech, alot more, then this... These people weren't hicks or rednecks, they're the people you least expect to do such a thing.

So you would walk out in the woods to see what someone is doing around your stuff unarmed when they may have or do have an M14 on them? Good luck with that.

Perhaps I'm fortunate that I have never lived in a country where people walk around with M14s. I'm very sorry for someone who has to live in such a potentially violent environment. It may explain quite a lot that seems strange to me.
