I hate to even say this! But there are A TON of those types of jobs up in AK! My DH Sean, just got back right before Xmas, the oil and gas industry up there is about to kick it, he was with a huge helo company, (nightmare job!) but dealt with a ton of those people. I bet he even knows someone hiring... crappy time of year to be there now, but I can't wait for summer when we can go up and fish/hunt! (someday....)

Yeah, I don't see Bob going to AK, he doesn't like cold at all, and he doesn't like being away from home much either. Thanks though :)

Wendy, where are you generally located again?
Mayah, if you are worried about the money earmarked for the kids, budget records should be available. If those were grants, then pretty much they have to follow the outlines specified in the grant. If they don't, you can always inform the donors. Are you the Director or at least friends with ? This is an inside joke, but you need a Frannie. Now she can deal with anyone hostile cause she is the Queen of Hostile Business Women. So just go Frannie on them!

Mtn Margie- Hi, I am located in the NW side of town. So far I've had 15 people call within the first 20 minutes of posting the free fence on CL. I have a family whose already come to my house and said they would take it, so that went fast! :) I was hoping to give it to some chicken loving family :)

Hi All,
I just posted on CL that I have 140 feet of chain link fence and a gate that we don't want. I am offering it for free if anyone wants it. It needs to be taken down. Thought I would give all of my chicken loving friends first dips. Wendy
you can reach me on my cell phone 719-233-0650

How soon do you need it gone?

I am sorry to hear about Bob, pozees. Sadly a lot of us are in the unemployed club and more will join us before it things get better. Thank you ..........!

I will keep from the political but it is hard to avoid when you know they are why many of us (me included) sit at home battling for the very few jobs because they are sitting on there hands with our nations budget and no major company would hire till they know what the future holds.

coloradogal I am really sorry to hear about your situation, if there is any more information you can give. Like how the take over is happening..ie did the board elect this person or anything small you can share I am sure we will all put our heads and resources together to help you. Don't risk anything, if you can't share any more then don't but if you can I know we all will try to help.

on a funnier note....

I went to my back door to fine Zoe standing at it looking all pathetic so I let her in. All three rush me and when I go to stop them they all plop down on the floor looking all cold and sad.

(could not get it to post right side up????)

Could you kick them out?

I would let them stay in too!
I moved my coop up against the house today to see if that makes it a bit warmer,
we do have a heat lamp in there and I added another 4 inches of shavings too.
But I can't say that I will be good and leave them there all night. I have my 2
chicken hotels ready by the back door in case I feel the need to bring them inside tonight.
:)

No, they are too cute. My chickens were in and out of the coop enjoying the sunshine in the single digit temps. No wind made it tolerable I guess. Me, I am by the wood stove being a human!

Yes, mine too, 9 degrees this morning, and they came out with no hesitation when I opened their door. Even yesterday afternoon late when the wind died down a little bit they roamed around foraging. It was still blowing, just not 35+ mph.
