My fellow Coloradoans at what age do you move your chicks from indoor brooders to outdoor coops? All the crazy weather we have I would love your input

I aim for 8 weeks, longer if the weather is still too chilly.

My first time, 6 weeks because I was a'scared they would freeze, now they are out the door 4 weeks..... fully feathered, if not sooner with heat. You will get over the fluff mess soon enough.

Ya my poor laundry room gets cleaned daily but dang it gets messy. I adore listening to them chirp but outside will be good. Really foot get the coop done they're 2 weeks 2day already plus one that's atleast a week or 2 older

I was wondering the same thing & Mtn Margie lives way higher than I do, so I might consider 6 or 7 weeks old.

I have two empty brooders now. Feels odd now... Well, I have an order in two weeks and another the week after. Wonder if I will be down to just one by then?

Good question! Based on these answers I need to get to building!! Mine are about 3 weeks old already, and I haven't started construction!

Just thought of a question, guys. I live out east of Powers in the Springs Ranch area. I'm wondering if you guys have suggestions on where I should put the vents for the coop. I want to be able to get a cross breeze. Any particular side that is better to put them on? Summer time I will be able to open the windows, so I'm more concerned about winter ventilation.

I would think ventilation wound be on the south and north side optimally. Window on the south side. It all depends on the exposure of the coop. If it's out in a field, wide open to the wind, I would think ventilation would need to be minimal unless the coop is air tight constructed.
