Directions: take Wilcox south past Plum Creek Pkwy down the frontage road running on the east side of I25. About 1.5 miles after Medved (third driveway on the left after Crystal Valley Pkwy), you will see the stables (white buildings with blue trim). Nancy DeVaney is the owner- stop on over and lend a hand!
 
Mandatory evac has just been extended in areas West of 83 and as far North as Baptist Rd. If you are affected our thoughts are with you. Do not hesitate to let us know if you need help.
 
Catching up on reading here....... Just heard an update, Flying Horse is being evacuated. Does anyone know of a facebook page where they are taking donation? I would like to donate, but need to do it via PayPal.

Prayers to those in the fires path, hope they get this monster contained SOON!!!!!!

I can also take in a flock of chickens for anyone in need...... Kinda out of the way up here in Teller County, but do have the room!

Suncatcher, the url I posted earlier (http://www.castlerockbound.net/forum/need-volunteers-help-care-many-many-animals-evacuated-fire) takes donations, but I don't think it's via PayPal. There are latest updates on the fire at this site, too.

I can't make up my mind about evacuating. I have everything ready to go. I did inventory last year. The map for evacuation goes right through the middle of my house. Backyard? Stay. Front yard is in the evacuation zone. Chickens have been in and out of the car. I am soaking them now with a mister under their favorite tree. I am in Elbert county on the El Paso Cty line. It sounds like the fire is mostly toward the Colorado Springs area and south west. I haven't heard that the fire has actually been in Elbert Cty. Any one else heard any news about this area?

I would go. The roads out of the Forest on Tuesday afternoon were just a nighmare with everyone trying to evac. At least if you go early you take the urgency out of it for yourself.
Also, many people couldn't get their livestock out because the roads were so clogged they just couldn't get their trailers into their areas to evac them.

We are sitting with a pile of stuff at the front door. We are pre-evac, but if the wind shifts we are bugging out.
