Colorado

Howdy gang,

Just wondering anyone going to the stock show , They will be judging birds on Monday. We are not showing any, but still thought we might go to see whats there. Would like to find someone who raises Dominiques here in Colorado. We are thinking about getting some more in the springtime. Wife would like to breed Dominiques, we are looking for an incubator now.
take care Jack

I'm pretty sure at least three of them have ducklings developing, but beyond that not sure. They should be hatching sometime this week, but I'm not sure I'll be there for it. I'm in montana until thursday or friday, the funeral for my stepdad is tomorrow. Kinda thinking I'll head on south thursday instead of friday, since his sister came out, and she'll be with mum til sunday

Will let you know by sunday if anything happend or not

Also, as far as the stock show goes was planning on going monday, love seeing the birds, but we won't be able to now. I know at least one person here has birds they are taking, good luck to everyone involved!

Thanks for the update Matthew

Melissa, my girls will be hatching out more in a couple of months. I am gathering all the eggs now with the cold night time temps. Since Lexi went broody on me last Spring, I am thinking she will most likely be the first one to go broody this year. Shelley thought about it for a couple of days and then decided swimming was more fun. Maybe now that she is more mature she will try again and actually finish. Not sure about the other three, but I will have at least one broody.

I am also going to pry open the wallet with a crowbar and get myself a descent wafer thermostat. I am tired of hatches gone wrong.

That part made me chuckle, because the kids told me today they can't get me to open my wallet if they had sit strapped to dynamite (ala Wile E Coyote) let me know when your girls do a hatchin, if you are selling the dusklings, that is.

For anyone here in the general area, I would be interested in Cayuga ducklings, or really, any kind as long as it could be sexed early.

Anyone in the area going to need any turkey babies? I need to get my list ready so I can start calling people and letting them know when their poults are in the incubator. We're still at least a good month out but I want to be prepared. We'll have Midgets and Bourbons-Bourbons are part Steve's stock and Midgets are part Porter stock. Pretty birds as you can see by my avatar.
