Agree we have wide roosts and the gang loves them. Curious why you stated that, do you have more to share? Also tell us about your flock and we love pics.
Oh I have tons more to share! lol And ok! Thanks for being so welcoming!

I have five happy hens; three buff orps name Sunny, Gracie and Daisy, one EE mix named Quanie and one speckled sussex named Rosie.
Quanie

Sunny

Gracie

Rosie

Daisy

Gracie got frostbite last winter and badly. She is no weak in her left foot and can't jump on high roosts anymore. She got frostbite from sleeping in wet bedding on a cold night. It was all my fault because of the wet bedding. I treated her best I could. Now I am writing about how to prevent and treat frostbite because I don't want anyone to have to endure what I did.

Penelope got her voice back this morning! So, not 100% sure if she had gapeworm or capillary worms but I'm glad I went with a broad spectrum wormer to just take care of as many types as possible. Now, I just hope it *was* worms and not something else.

Yeah, what product did you end up using? Just filing this type of info in case needed for future use.

We ended up using Ivermectin since it was the only thing we could find in the feed store that was listed here on the boards as something that can be used to worm chickens. However, now that I've already done that and used money on it, I'm finding threads here where people are saying Ivermectin doesn't do anything for chickens.

Which is a lot frustrating for me right now since I don't have the money this month for extra stuff due to all the speech/physical therapy I've had to go to. Also super frustrating because the thread post I read that said it could be used for chickens was from a BYC administrator.

I am going to be contacting my vet to see if he handles chickens and hope that Penelope and the rest of the flock will be okay until I get paid at the end of the month.

Just keep in mind that threads on here are full of people's opinions and of course there are 500 different ways to do things. Here are some links on the use of ivermectin in poultry.

Ditto on what you read here, it is not always accurate, so do your research. Most people here know what they are talking about, but some of them don't!!! lol

I have read that Wazine is good for worms, and have also read that some folks use both the Wazine and the Ivermectin, so who knows!!! One after the other. I have wormed two roosters with Ivermectin, they were fine. It is the safest to use on chickens. If you want to go the natual route try pumpkin seeds.
