Colorado

I am not sure what breeds we have or the ages. I have text the gal we got them from to try to find out. I do know we have 2 Easter Eggers - we get green eggs. We have two that are large black and white with nice red combs (almost look like roosters). We have an all white one that is medium sized. We have one that is large and brown with variagated brown shades. I think we have one gold orphington but she's small. So, I am not sure. There are also 2 black bantams. The gold one may be a type of bantam. Maybe you can help me with the breeds. They have been raised with a lot of care and are very friendly and don't mind being held. They also love the boys 3 and 7.

Yes post up some pictures and we can all help, we love chicken pictures.

@21hens-incharge love the screen door.

Nice work on the coop/run!!

Tomorrow I'm headed to the chicken swap at earth dog on 3rd & Kalamath. Is anyone else going?

No hatching. Agh. I suck at chicken math lol. It's ok, my friend is hatching ac next week and in 2 weeks. So I will just add more of those. With the new gff ac roo, we expect much better looking chicks. Fingers crossed!!

Thank You CoChix. It was an easy build for me.

DK I was so hoping your littles would have popped out and been running around in a brooder. I am so sorry things went badly.
I am crossing my fingers for the AC's for you.

For a door with screen we made a frame out of 2x4's and added the hardware cloth then sandwiched the cloth using 1x2's so it would not be able to be pushed out. I will look for a pic of it.

You can see the screen door in this pic.
I tore this coop down to build my new larger coop. I reused the screen door on my new run.

This is amazing. That is what I am thinking but I have a 4x8 coop and I was thinking of a similar design that I can secure to the inside wall when not needed and close and latch when needed. I wish I had the space to have a second interior door like that. I am want to create external nesting boxes with storage for food etc and free up more floor space for the girls. Thank you for including a picture. That will help when I go to construct the door.

The grandsons have named the hens...

Copper Maran – Brownish Black – “Lightning”
Barred Rock – “Salt and Pepper”
2 Bantam Wyandotte – Black – “Thing 1”

Black Bantam with white earlobes – “Thing 2”

Born June 2014

Barred Rock – Black and White – “Oreo”
___________ - All White – “Big Smiles”

I will try to bet a picture of "Big Smiles" maybe the Colorado Crew can help identify her breed.

Thanks again for all your help.

I have a Cochin that I bathe once per summer, right before I trim her extremely fluffy behind. She doesn't get muddy, she gets a poo streak....which i can't stand to look at. The dirt doesn't bug me, and that's a good thing because their feathered feet get pretty dirty. I imagine bathing a bantam is much easier than these standard Cochins, although I would never bring one of the Roos in, they're just too big.
