Maggie, sorry for the loss of the chicks and the stress of dealing with the USPS! Are you the one with the Wheaton breeding pair? Or was that PC? Anyway, if you want to pick up some barnyard mixes to hatch let me know for free of course! If you are the one with the wheaton's maybe we could swap some hatching eggs.
That is PC. I got some eggs from here and have two beautiful BIG birds from her blue eggs. I'll try to get pictures.

, my question is this, has anyone stored their hatching eggs in the fridge and then taken them out and brought them to room temp before putting in the bator? Now that it is warm, I don't have anywhere to store the eggs but in the fridge, figured that is better than room temp. Thoughts or suggestions?
PC brought me eggs that she had stored in the refrigerator and some that were room temp. She marked them. Several of the eggs that were stored in the refrigerator developed and 2 hatched.
THat is the sum total of everything I know about the subject.

I think that 2/8 that came out of the fridge hatched that I gave Mo. It was early in the season so fertility was iffy. Eggs were 7-10 days old. There is a long post on fertile TJ eggs as hatching eggs. I'd just find a place on the counter to hold them.

Here's what the post office did to my last box of shipped eggs, which are now not developing under the broody...

I'm pretty upset about it. I don't know that any will hatch at all.

Were these your SFH????  Looks like it went through some trauma for sure!!!!

Yep, the second set of SFH eggs. It's so surprising because the first box and eggs were in excellent condition. The PO in Peyton is lucky my husband was the one to pick them up, I would not have been pleasant to deal with had I seen that box at 5am. We gave the broody girl a couple Cream Cochin mix eggs, just to round out the total number of eggs, so at least she'll hatch a couple babies. We're going to re candle on Sunday, and see if there are any keepers.

Is anyone in need or want of a Serama roo? He's a cute Birchen color. My son decided on a different roo to show in 4H ( a white one). We're in Grand Junction. $20.
