First night at their new house. Nice and cozy. BCM's, Black Orps and Black/Blue Silkies.

I don't think my wife could help herself, she added a few new additions to the flock. 2 Ameraucanas and 2 Buff Orps.

We are enjoying them like crazy. I get the biggest kick of how they scratch. When I heard people talk about them scratching I thought it was more like a dog pawing or digging up dirt but it is way more cute seeing chicks do it, they really get at it

One step closer to chickens, though its a long journey......... 20 more posts and 20 #80 lb bags of cement unloaded....... got 4 posts set. I have to finish fencing the backyard before I even start on the coops and run...... Then it started snowing at our house.

That's so exciting! I found some chicks for sale very close to me so I am going to be able to get some Monday. No idea what kind, although I know what I would like. I also have a friend who has a friend who will brood (breed) some for me with his hens. Yahoo!!!!

Would love to have EEs, Red Star, Australorp and either a Wyandotte or Plymouth. Any comments on breeds??

Our b.a.'s are really sweet too. I love how they waddle up the hill at full-tilt when they hear us coming out of the back door. They usually get a treat out of it!

Snowed here earlier. Rural Elizabeth. Enough for us to stop working on the new chicken coops. It's gone now. Just the ridiculous wind remained.

Have more chicks left. Anyone?
