No damage. As weird as it sounds, 60 to 80 mph is nothing major up here. 95 to 105ish, something to be aware of, and 120 and up - time to throw the chainsaw in the back of the truck cause stuff is coming down.... LOL!

The youngsters had a great time checking the cracks along the fence. I saw a cricket and several worms being discovered and quickly consumed.

Time was taken to scratch itches and ruffle feathers against the cool breeze.

Just some chick shots from today's antics. We have a couple of daredevils in this bunch. The white one, the last hatched and the smallest is determined to do everything that the bigger two can do. They are pretty fun to watch, they definitely are exploring every part of their new world, they even checked out the egg laying action on the other side of the coop.

I think it was @coop410silkies discussing the fact that they might end up in the wrong bedroom, but the second night after opening their pop door they put themselves to bed on the right side of the coop and under their heat pad. Definitely a fun group of chicks and the smartest and easiest chicks I have had so far.

Nice! I had bear tracks going through the property this AM. It didn't come up to the coop, but the fence is on and repaired from the snow. I am ready for them this year and I hope they behave and don't repeat last season's behavior.

I guess you acclimate yourself to whatever predators you have around but I would guess a bear could cause a while lot of damage! Sounds like you already danced one round with him!?! Good luck keeping bear free this year.

@Rock Home Isle super cute pictures. I just love ALL the chicks (and chickens to!).

Gosh, hope you are bear free too this year! It's early isn't it? Or is this when they start coming out up there.

New additions to the flock are due to ship next week. Have an assortment of Golden and Columbia Wyandottes, Whiting True Blue, and Dark Brahmas and some of these will need new homes. Located in Penrose. (Don't ask for the WTB as I want the blue eggs for my basket)

PM me if you are interested.
