It totally is! I really needed something sturdy enough to survive the winds out here and this fit the bill (not enough building skills myself, ha). Love it so far although haven't put chickens in it yet lol. Just in time too as my 8 week old pullets are huge and in the garage. What kind did you get??

I got their Cape Style 4x6. It's more garden shed like. Supposed to be done this weekend.

Is that from Rocky Mountain Storage sheds? I am going to pick up my coop from them this week, which is good considering I have almost 10 week old pullets living in a dog kennel right now.
That is where I got mine from too! This is a picture off their website of my coop! They took a picture when they delivered it and put it on their website. I This is before I had a fence or even chickens. I have painted it since. It looks very different now.

I have a serious broody problem. I'm up to 4. I have 2 batches ready to hatch this weekend and the eggs that were added and are developing are staggered so I'll keep the other two to finish those eggs.
It will be fun to see if our hatch rate is different. I haven't touched my broody since I gave her eggs. I have left her alone except when we tried to candle those two eggs.
I'll keep you posted on what happens this weekend.
I set the eggs under the broody about 5pm April 29th, so I am hoping Saturday I wake up to chicks hatching!

edited to add; how are your chicks doing from Fowl Stuff? I lost two so far. Not a huge surprise, they were the two weakest of the bunch from the start. One bantam and one large. The rest are great. I wish I had set up something like Trish had outside. I'll try to rig something up this weekend outside for them.

I have a problem with vole not rats. Never had them until last summer.

Oh, voles are nasty. I lived with one in my basement apartment; it chewed and ate everything, including aluminum. Left piles of little sickle shaped gnawings wherever it had been and chewednot afraid of people, very destructive. It grabbed at my hair when I was sleeping. I would get good bait and poison 'em, politically correct or no!

Now THAT is a nice coop, great advertising for Rocky Mountain Storage sheds. I will have to look them up.

I have been thinking of using some kind of wind screen mesh in place of chicken wire around a run. What I've seen is a little spendy, but it may be worth the wind and snow protection. Anybody have any experience with something like this?

I will be watching to see how your Broody hatch goes. For the most part, I too just leave my Broodies alone, and they toss out the eggs that quit and hatch what hatches. Their best hatches have been in the middle of summer. When my new SS hens start laying, I will get more serious about this.

Oh yeah I saw this pic on their website. Very nice indeed! Do you have a picture with the new paint?
