Well, I feel bad for Phoenix, but I still don't feel better

I don't do well with heat except when intentionally using a sauna, but that's not an all day thing.

Well I did it. I butchered my extra male quail last night. First time ever. It wasn't what I'd call fun but I do feel a little proud that I was able to do it all by myself. Now I know I can so I'm going to set some eggs. This part should actually be fun.

It's perfect tubing weather out, but I can't go because the river is a raging rapid of doom! Dangit. Have to wait for a hot day once the river level comes down a bit. Best to tube in snow-fed rivers when it's 90+ out ;-)

@lomine Good job I am proud of you! I have not tried, I bet it is hard the first time.

My family just arrived home from Phoenix last night...Hot, Hot, Hot.

I guess it was all over the news about the weather that they will be having this weekend. I didn't go down with them for two reasons: I don't do well in the heat, and I just started doing research at CSU...

This is starting to look like another unusually hot summer...how many of those have we had in the last 5...6 years?

I think it's been...what.....5 or 6 unusually hot summers?

The Poudre is in full run-off right now...

Congrats on taking the first steps to becoming more self-sufficient. It's an accomplishment for sure regardless of the type of bird. The first is always the hardest.

My alma mater! Go Rams!

Mine as well, three generations deep in our family. Lived in the Fort for 4, love it. Would love to live there again.

Anyone interested in an Oliver Egger cockerel? 10 weeks old, starting to crow, super pretty! The grey bird..
