Colorado

Hahaha No. I do want bees but with all the other things I want to do this spring (garden, pond, trees...), I decided to wait until next year. I didn't want to stress myself out. It also gives me more time to get more plants in the ground that will feed the bees.

Totally understand. I think, like chickens, getting set up is the hardest part, but once established they will be pretty low maintenance.

I just wanted to share a little excitement I think you will all understand. 1. yesterday was a record egg day for me with every girl laying an egg except for one 2. ALL of these eggs were in nest boxes (well the ducks' were in their house in the straw, but the appropriate place) and none were broken! I am finally winning the nest box war with my chickens.

:woot

These are my newest babies, I got them from Buckly's. I get most of my chicks from Buckly's and I love the store. I am a little concerned this little EE is a roo! She doesn't have the row of three spikes on her comb, but the others don't have a comb at all, she is also the leader. Could she be a roo?

Oh that’s a very red comb for such a young chick. I believe you are correct about it being a cockerel. :(

It's 2018, how is living in Colorado with DUCKS? I've had chickens in the past and now we are looking for Khaki Campbell ducklings... anyone out there have fertile eggs or duckilngs available for sale?

Hi fellow coloradans hope your coops are fat and sassy with the crazy warm winter we are having!
