Does anyone here grow sprouts for their chickens? I read about it on the mealworm thread and it peaked my interest! If you do, I'd love to know what kind of seeds you use and where you buy them. I can't seem to find any good prices but I'm probably looking in all the wrong places!

yes I grow wheat for my birds. We grow our own wheat so I always have some. I saw in a thread that if you grow it in a low tray and then put hardware clothe or wire over the tray it will prevent then from pulling the plants out unless you want then to. I usually grow without soil and just sprout them and give the tray and all to them. the yolk will be deep orange.

I was going to say there was a family trying to find a home for their Standard on Craigs yesterday but it wasn't a pup. They were losing their home or something. I love poodles. I've always wanted a miniature apricot female.

The space is wonderful for all the birds but keeping up with the water turning to ice rinks is getting a little overwhelming. Need to get electricity out to the barn

So needless to say I'm SOOOO NOT looking forward to the weather coming in tomorrow.

I had a BYC'r pm me about the ordinances here in Brighton. All I found was that you can have livestock where they are allowed. And the term livestock includes but not limited to cows, sheep, goats, etc. but didn't mention chickens. So I assume

that chickens are in the "not limited to" grouping. Can you shed anymore light on rules and regs for chickening here in Brighton. Thanks Gail!!! And I will want to see pics of the new baby when he/she arrives
