[Chick_In_The_Burbs]

I swear, every time I put a fresh bowl of food in they either take a dump on it ir track crap from the cage across it.  I keep trying to keep it clean but as soon as I do they do it all over again. 

Typical chicks. . I got some of the little paving stones to raise the feeder up. It cut down on the nastification and waste significantly.

Does anyone have a vet they would recommend? One of my girls has an injured toe that might need to be amputated (I just posted about it here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/669574/chick-has-toe-injury#post_9040575). I live in the Parker/Elizabeth/Kiowa area. This is my first time raising chicks (and first time having any animal other than dogs and cats) so am not sure where to take her.

They look to be at the Ragamuffin stage...very cool.

I'm glad I went out and worked at 7:30 AM this morning... Now it is too windy to do chicken coop building. With the help of my 20 year old daughter, we got the first coat of paint on one of the coops. Both of the larger ones are just waiting paint so I can put the trim on later. Worked on the little ones a little until the wind came up.

The wind foiled our plans too! We were putting up bird netting over our run and it just go so windy we couldn't control it anymore.
