Hello, fellow Coloradoans! We are brand newbie chicken owners as of last night

Bought a coop, food, box of feeders, lights, etc., and seven sweet bantams from a gal in Littleton (gotta love Craigslist!!) that I'm guessing was REALLY done having chickens since she wanted to part with every bit of it

I have now been trolling BYC for 4 days, since we first talked to her, I have serious chicken info overload, but what a wonderful place it is here! Anyhoo, just wanted to jump in and say hi!

So I found someone who is able to ship black and blue orpington chicks to me for about $6.00 each plus shipping. He can ship them in batches of 10 but I can only keep about 2, would anyone else be interested in some chicks? I could even raise them to be started if you would prefer not to deal with babies?

I've got a couple of extra ducks that I'm wondering if anyone might want. A trade would be nice but not necessary. The Swedish black is probably a girl as we've definitely heard her quacking. The Swedish blue is crested (or is having a BAD hair day) and very cute.

Anyone still interested in booth space at a poultry swap? The Fountain farmers market is coming up the 16th of June. I don't have hatching eggs to sell anymore, but I am still willing to put up a booth if others will have poultry or hatching eggs to sell.

If the booth is a go, I will have perennials and herbs to sell.

Does anyone know the rights (if there are any) of renters that are living in a house that has gone into foreclosure?

My DH called the attorney that is handling the case and was told that it's none of our business and they couldn't tell us where we might turn.

The owner of the house keeps telling DH that everything will be ok. So far nothing has changed on the Jeffco website on the property.

Do we contact our own attorney (can't afford it) or is there really nothing we can do..
