Does anyone know where I can get some 5 gal buckets with lid...gratis? hate to pay $7 at ace or HD... I figure I'll need 3-4 to hold a #50 bag of feed.

Good info Thanks... I also saw a 20gal galvanized trash can with a locking lid at Ace for $21... it's sooo shiny ... I'm temptedFYI, One 5 gallon bucket holds about 25# of feed for me. I suspect the ratio would be similar for you. You may not need as many as you think! I have found that I prefer the plastic containers like from Wilmar (like what the chicks are in but much smaller) because the lids are easier to remove. The feed I get is loose, doesn't come in bags so I always use 5 gallon buckets or containers. I truly love the feed I get from High Altitude Organics. I bought store bought feed once because I ran out and hated it so much (mostly corn, smelled awful, looked awful)! I will never let myself run out again! Of course, the chickens didn't care. Food is food! LIL
Anyone just get hit with four or five inches of hail? It came down so hard and so fast I thought I would be picking up dead chickens. They were all over free ranging. Just let up and found them all and they are so pathetic. And my garden which looked so good this year shredded. My corn was chest high with tassels . Now it is flat. I dont think I have ever seen it come down that hard, it wasn't big but it was coming from every direction. I am a native and have seen are storms before but just not so hard. Hope you all are ok.
