Uhgg. What a LONG day yesterday. Up at 4:45 AM and drive to the COS terminal. Flight to SLC and then SGU. Pick up the rental car, drive to headquarters. Meeting. Drive back to the SGU terminal, drop off rental car. Wait. Fly to SLC, Grab a cold, stale sandwich. Fly to COS, arrive at 9:30 PM. Get home by 10:15pm. In bed by 11 PM. Up at 5 AM with a call from work. At work by 6AM. I am TIRED! and it's only 9:30 AM! Havent seen the chickens in two days. Heard the cockerels this morning though.......Cock-a-roo......
I know the pain!!
Last job I worked all over the world...travel..travel..travel!!! Sounds nice...but get's old FAST!!

****!! i went into my shed and found that the birdseed bag was chewed on by a mouse! I keep my chicken feed/scratch, birdseed, grass seed, etc etc in there. What a pain in the butt this is going to be..... :barnie

We just found one nesting in our compost pile! With all the outdoor cats in this neighborhood I have no idea how they survive but I want them outta here. Luckily they can't get through the 1/2" hardware cloth to the girls, and the coop is shut up tight, but I still don't like them around ever since the plague reports a couple years ago. How do you get rid of yours? I'm not willing to risk poison but traps never work that well.

In other news, our garden is HUGE! While we were out on vacation everything doubled in size and we had pattypan squash (the ones that normally fit in the palm of your hand at the grocery store) the size of my head. Once we get some eggs going we'll be in farm heaven :celebrate

Is anyone here a veterinarian, or know one personally? I'm thinking about a major change in what I'm doing with my life...

I did the Field Service Tech thing many years ago...racked up huge Frequent Flyer Miles back when that meant something.

I got to see many different parts of our great nation and some international travel as well. You could not pay me to go into an airport today. I'm still burned out on travel....

So I have this squatty little Dominique pullet. Very friendly, but I'm not going to keep her. Sharon, is she one you may want? Any other takers? We are giving 2 pullets to Rock Ledge Ranch in a couple of months, but they want ones that are at least decent examples of standard breed birds. She doesn't fit that criteria. She is about 10 weeks old. I will see about getting a photo this afternoon. I have no idea how good a layer she may end up being. Her legs are very short. Very funny to watch run. Sort of a waddle shuffle.....
