Colorado

As I read the code; it seems to indicate that you can temporarily exceed the 10 bird limit; allowing you to purchase chicks and possess them while they grow-out...but at an age of 6 months you must reduce your holdings to no more then 10 birds and none of them can be a rooster. By their definition, a cockerel becomes a Rooster at an age of 6 months.

To be on the safe side, I'd find homes for any ROOs that start to crow...so that you are not placed in a position of having to prove age should a neighbor report your flock.

Ditto this. If you can't tell if a bird is a Rooster, it's likely a city inspector won't know either. By six months I'm sure you would know and would have dealt with them anyway.

My worst was Springs to Kuwait. Changed planes/crews twice, 16 hour flight. Not cool. Not cool at all.

I use to bring my son to summer camp int he Catskills of NYState. I'd leave my house at 5 to fly to LaGuardia, where camp personal would pick him up and be back on the plane and home by usually 11pm. Then I'd do the reverse in 2 weeks. It was a long, long day.

Ok, that was classic!

I decided to actually call code enforcement and ask. I left a message and got a call back saying that my question should be referred to the humane society. Called the humane society and they had no clue. So the answer is that the code enforcers don't even know! Ya gotta love it..

but will stick to the 6 month and crowing rule unless I hear otherwise. I have already had a neighbor report me for "having a messy yard". We actually think they had an issue with the ladies because we found that someone had snuck into our yard the week before the reports started and was trying to mess with our hens. Found two of the girls loose in the yard one day and the main coop door wide open on another.

. Still don't know who did it but we locked the gate and the main coop door.

People are assholes. The lady that reported me for having chickens lives THREE doors down. She was mowing my neighbors lawn while they were gone and noticed the coop. I caught her actually throwing rocks at my dogs and chickens. And then she came back with a camera to photo document for the HOA that I had chickens.

I did the Field Service Tech thing many years ago...racked up huge Frequent Flyer Miles back when that meant something.

I got to see many different parts of our great nation and some international travel as well. You could not pay me to go into an airport today. I'm still burned out on travel....

My company kept ALL the miles and flew the sales dept around on them!!! I had to give them all my passwords and codes!!!

Why do people have to be such jerks? We came home from our lovely vacation to a CITATION on our front door for having "weeds and grass over 9 inches tall" from the local witch-with-a-B calling to complain on us. Can you believe that's actually a crime in Colorado Springs? About 1/10 mile away there are HORSES and verdant fields in the same neighborhood, but our front yard grass is too tall. One of the reasons we moved into our house is because it has NO HOA and neighbors can't be bothersome, but this lady takes it upon herself to call code enforcement. The citation only has the code officer's name but we know it's a lady complaining because she has written nasty notes to us in the past (and put them in our mailbox which is a federal crime) in big flowery handwriting. If only we could find out who she is and REALLY give her an earful. How cowardly is that to sneak around with notes and phone calls to the police instead of actually, you know, talking with your neighbor?

She must be new because last summer our yard was really overgrown and nobody gave a ****.

I can't wait to live in the country somewhere far from busybodies who have nothing better to do with their time.
