Colorado

You know.......

I've seen owl statues/figures to put in one's yard, but given that hawks and owls don't like crows, I wonder if one could put a couple of crow statues or figures in the yard and keep the hawks and owls away........

I could let you breed zoe, she looks just like a crow. Then you would have a bunch of EE crows. ;)

I pray things get better soon.

On another note: I had a hawk buzz my area today.  I sure wish the crows would come back.

Have people noticed an uptick on coyotes attacks in their areas?  I know 2 people now who are having major coyote problems where they have never had issues before.

Tons of coyotes around here. Granted we have a very high wild rabbit population (git outta my garden!) so they are pretty plump this time of year anyway. This year is the first time I've heard them out yipping and howling though. It sounds like there are more than just the one or two we had this time last year.

Also hawks :(

Almost every day we hear a hawk screech or two, bunnies all over the yard, and coyotes howling every night. You wouldn't think we are in the middle of a city with all this. I'm so glad we built our run as sturdy as possible.

So there I was, sitting at the light to turn left from Falcon Hwy, onto 24. The light turned green, I look to the right and see a red corvette that stopped, and I proceed into my turn....WAM! A red SUV flies through the red light from my left and smashes the front and passenger corner of my car. Thank goodness I had just started pushing the gas, so i was going super slow. He flipped over, onto his roof about three car lengths behind me, luckily he had his seatbelt on.
I've yet to find out what he was doing that caused him to not see the red light, but am thankful that he had his seatbelt on.
Luckily my kids weren't in the car, and I only have minor injuries from the airbag. Two women stopped and were really great, one of them wrote out a witness statement and checked on me twice while I waited for my husband to show up.
Just wish people would pay more attention while driving. If I had been any further in the turn he would have T-Boned me, and I don't even want to think about what else could have happened.
Be careful out there people...even though it was the other guys fault I keep thinking, why didn't I look left?

Ashley, thank goodness you are okay! Very shaken up I'm sure, but still here to remind us to look both ways, thank you!

wsmith (Wendell?) I'm glad Beth is home. Like many I am happy to assist if you need anything, I believe I'm not far from you during the day - work at exit 119. Don't hesitate to ask if you need a check-in, a bus stop pickup, run for groceries or supplies, etc.
