I've felt soap...it's usually kinda slick![]()
Oh I think waiting at least a few weeks is better, I still have lots to do weekends, trying to get my new big coop ready to move the girls into it, and I know everyone else has things going as well. I found organic alfalfa seed at my local Natural Grocer, $1.72 for .30 lb ($5.73/lb). Whenever we get together I'll try to bring you some - occasionally they are out of things right when you want to buy them, and it isn't like a large grocery chain where they get everything in a day, so you want a week or so sometimes, but they've been good to me and their prices are reasonable.
Well, I got a response on my chick listing but I am not even sure it deserves a response.![]()
They asked, "Up for sale are two six week old cockrel chicks.?"
Really? The title of the listing is 'two started cockerel chicks' and I go on to state exact age. And pics!
GRRRRR reviewing my bank statement to find an unauthorized deduction using my debit card. Turns out it's to a porn site. GRRRRRRRRRRR
It gets worse. The charges are on a card that I lost a year ago.......replaced.......and the bank was supposed to have CANCELLED.
Just let me know when and you guys can come over here. I have everything here that you guys would need. It is too much work to drag everything out when so much can be done in the span of a couple of hours here. I usually always go through canning of beans, meats, homemade laundry soap, no knead bread, yoghurt if there is a desire or kefir, I can show people what vinegar mothers look like, how to do your own vanilla extract... cold process soap, candles, body butters, lip moisturizer, etc. I just have to know what people want to learn and I can show. Get a sock loom and I'll go through the steps to make socks. I guess what I'm saying is you all can come here.
You can bread?? How's that work? I'm really in a "new things to try" mood this year.

HOLY MOLY! 45 bucks for five pounds?! That's almost $9/pound! I paid $3/pound for mung beans to sprout from Whole Foods and thought they had me over a barrel. I'm experimenting now with the feed grains from Circle-F that go for .75/pound - they told me it has something on it that prevents the seeds from sprouting but I still get about a 50% sprout rate. The girls don't mind either - soaked seeds are just as good to them. I know that's different from alfalfa but we don't eat the sprouts ourselves, just planning on growing them for the girls to get some greens during the winter. Have you thought about growing alfalfa for the seeds? From what I'm reading about the plant it likes full sun, alkaline soil, and is drought resistant - so perfect for growing here. And it's a perennial so you'd only have to plant it once. Oh, and we got THREE eggs yesterday. I think our little barred rock finally started upI buy the 5lb buckets from amazon. http://www.amazon.com/The-Sprout-House-Organic-Sprouting/dp/B0076BOOLC/ref=pd_sim_gro_52![]()
