I have 1 female pekin duck who lost her mate a few months ago. She loves her kiddie pool. You are welcome to have her.
Im not sure what else to do with her short of orange duck since I couldnt find a male for her.

I'm not sure if they're still available, but I have a friend who is helping to find 2 male ducks a new home. I could look into it again if you'd want.

but we will have a kiddie pool...

Mine use a kiddee pool now. In the summer, it works great because I can fill up the pool at night and they swim. During the winter, it is much harder as everything freezes. Emptying the pool gets harder. I've been using the large size black rubber ones. The thing that is hardest is their poo is very wet so when they nest with the chickens, it just makes for a very messy area. I also don't have any grass out here. It's all mulch and little pebbles. What type of setup do you have? Are you planning on just ducks? I guess I'm just not a duck person.

Sure... I'm easy when it comes to breeds.

Easy peasy to make your own. I have multiple casks of all sorts of fermented stuff around here. I'd love to find someone who wants a kombucha mama or some kefir grains. They are multiplying like crazy lately. I love red wine vinegar and I swear, it truly is the best stuff I've ever gotten anywhere. It makes divine dressing and i hate to admit that sometimes, I'll take some cheese curd and add the red wine vinegar and just let it ferment for a day. So very yummy. You guys want cultures... man, do i have cultures.

I added the big girls you listed, what bantams did you want to try? We are far enough from May that he might not need to know right now, just wondered.

So, due to a canceled weekend trip I now have a 4 day weekend January 11-14th. The hatchery where I was planning to get my chicks isn't open on Sundays which is my only weekend day off during a normal work week. Would it be too early to get my chicks January 12th? I was originally planning to get them in mid to late February, keep them inside for 8 weeks, and put them in their coop in late April. I've already confused/irritated my boss with the planning of this January 'vacation' and don't want to make it worse by canceling that one but planning a different one in February but I also don't want to have to keep HUGE birds in my house for an extra month because I jumped the gun.

What do you guys think? This season has been so dry and warm, if it continues to be much warmer than normal we'll be fine putting the birds out early, but if it turns cold and/or wet for the early Spring well... that will make it harder!

Not that I'm aware of, no. Adding 5 turkey poults for you - do you want Narragansetts or a different breed, or mix?

If mixing isn't a problem I'll get two bourbon reds and three Narragansett, I hear good things about both and can't decide I'd also like to get five RIR.
