Lost our eleven year old's favorite hen and had our only laying hen wounded today, my wife suspects a hawk or something. Her overgrown Aussie broke down the door to the run attempting to rescue lol.

Aww, so sorry, what a bummer. Good dog. Time for a roof on the run, even if just netting or a "maypole"of fishing line.

WHOO HOOOOO! I got my first egg ever! I'm so excited! I heard my girls making a ruckus and lo and behold! AN EGG! YAY! 

Whoo!! She is only a few weeks behind my BA that's laying... I have 2 that are the same age that havent started yet... Great job! So exciting!

Yeah we were thinking of the maypole idea. Yeah the Aussie is pretty protective of his chickens, though it's a constant struggle to keep him from herding them, he can't stand it when we let them out of the run, think he's got a little ocd lol
