That's horrible! I haven't heard any stories about banks making the world better lately. I would settle for just no more stories like this.

We should have our coop next week and are taking a chicken care class this Saturday. Anyone have a good source for pullet old enough to live out in the coop or will be in a few weeks?

I contacted the people in hudson from CL two days ago, but I haven't heard back from them yet. I'm weary about getting eggs shipped, haven't had the best luck. But I'm not opposed to local eggs, I would go in on an order as well. If you have any luck also let me know, and I'll do the same for you.

I am looking for jumbo quail myself.  Fertile eggs or birds.   Worried about getting eggs from some of the gamebird hatcheries due to our altitude.  Please let me know what you find in the area or if you want to go in on an order.  Wifezilla said she put her order in with a place in Elizabeth a few years ago.  She got jumbo browns.
There is a person on CL northern CO selling quail.

I did read the newspost. The problem is I don't have a coop yet, should be here next Friday, and the chickens are looking for a home this weekend so I would have no place to keep them.

Oh my. How sad for them. I cannot drive up there tomorrow or Saturday, but if someone else is I can make room for some. They must be NPIP certified, right? Looks like they sold eggs all over the place.

My Silkie eggs finally arrived today. Picked them up at the PO this afternoon, got home to learn I had received 24 eggs even though I only paid for 18, bless her heart. Candled as soon as I unwrapped them all, many have no air cells, four have air cells solid and perfectly located, one has air cell at the pointy end. Resting in their cartons right now. Would like to set them Saturday morning so they hatch Friday the 8th (I'm usually home on Fridays and WILL be that one LOL). Shed delivery is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon darn it. Was hoping for a morning delivery, but such is life.

Wendell, I am going to try and snag the pickup Monday so I can pick up the brooder when I leave work, if that is okay, if not whatever day works better for you. How is Beth? If she has chemo/appointments that day another will be fine. Bob plans to use the pickup tomorrow to move all his tools back home and then attend the Vestas job fair in Pueblo.

That's really sad. I would love to take 2 of these hens. If any one is driving up there I would gladly pay for some gas if you picked me up 2. I have to work Friday and Saturday or I would go myself. If any one is going please let me know!
