Thanks for the zoning help, I am really worried about it but I have time so I need to not rush myself. I am just eager to get the girls some land and see there reaction to it.

For a fun time try calling extended stay hotels and when they ask you if you have any pets (because site says pets allowed, not specific at to what kind of pets) say oh just the three chickens but they are rather quiet. That was fun to do to the Sheridan, with rooms at $120 a night, discount for extended stay.

I at the moment cant..If you find your self just being overwhelmed the chicken fest 2013 is on May 18...What does CW repersent?..

A lot of chicks...My mom would kill me If I did that...."But they are so cute!!!" that is the only defense I would have...
CW is a Columbian Wyandotte. I think I only got about 5-10 of them. They all survived the night even though it is snowing hard! We have gotten about 3 inches since 6am. You will all be able to see them at a future swap.

Canon City approved hens with a permit just a few months ago. $100 for permit, 8 hens allowed. Man am I happy we are in the county. But our next door neighbor is city. Can you imagine having 50 acres and not be allowed to have chickens? That was the case until a few months ago. I just don't understand. We are a rural agricultural area. Shaking my head.

Longmont's permit is a one-time fee of $30. You only need neighbor approval if the chickens will be free range, which mine will not be. Only when I'm out with them.

rEmember that zoning laws and designations can vary city to city, and county to county. Each can and probably are different.
That's why I specifically stated Pueblo West, even in my original comment. Someone read the restriction and jumped to a conclusion about all A3, missing that I identified my location...

HAHA! What fun it would have been to see their faces!!!!

And you are all enablers! All this talk of 109 chickens, fancy breeds... I am having a hard time controlling myself and not impulse buying more as it is - and my chicks don't arrive for another week!! i am already planning on getting some Black Cooper Marans next spring, and now Colloncas - which I'd not yet heard of - are calling out "pick me"!!

My husband has already warned me he'll leave me if I become one of "those" chicken people, lol!
