Ohh, yeah, major stress. Even when things go well (I assume sometimes they do?) it's still a stressful event, but if you wind up with the home you want at a payment you can afford, it will be worth it in the end.

Sadly the interest rates have jumped a whole point since we started, what was once a house we could comfortably afford is now creating a very tight budget. This whole mortgage insurance scam is just infuriating as well.

So frustrating! I agree about mortgage insurance. Is this a place that would easily/quickly sell if you didn't have a contract on it? I know someone whose contract was timing out last Friday and the title company that was holding up the deal offered to pay points to bring the interest rate down to his original guaranteed rate - they were going to be sued by the bank that currently owns the property for holding up the deal. In his case, the property was not likely to sell easily/quickly if he backed out of the deal. I don't know what he decided to do. Perhaps it is slight comfort to know someone else is having a difficult time closing on a house right now?

I don't know, to me it seems as if the banks, appraisers, ratings agencies, and mortgage brokers who caused the whole financial mess in the first place haven't really paid a price, just the average consumer/buyer/seller. The way the rules were re-written didn't really help at all. We had our place appraised a few years ago when we thought we might refinance, and because it's now essentially a lottery draw for an appraiser, we got someone who knew NOTHING about rural properties, the value of infrastructure, etc., AND who pulled comps that weren't comps at all. Very depressing experience.

Where is this place? Sounds like it could be an interesting field trip. Was the food pricey?
Oh it is Pozees!! Black Forest, Co, Exit Monument off I25.

The feed is great. .60 a pound. approx. 25-30 pounds fits in a five gallon bucket. It was raining and 4:30 didn't seem like a good time to "visit". this is a private residence, not a store or "farm tour ready" type of place. If that makes sense. The farm was a .25 mile of the fire a few weeks ago.

My girls seem to love it so far. I am really excited about what the future brings with this new feed. Its got to be better and I am positive I will see a increase in egg production, I hope
Maybe its right for you?

Ouch, twice what I'm getting from Mayah, and only a little less than twice what I was buying from the local feed mill, but I will still investigate. Thanks for the link :) They must be counting their blessings with the fire having come so close and still missing them!

Are you getting all organic? Maybe that is the difference?

Im having a hard time finding something here in Denver, seems like everything I find is in the Springs area?

I am quite sure that is the difference. If money was no object it would be an easy decision; alas, that is not the case :)
